About photo tours
What is a photo tour?
A photo tour is a trip specifically designed for wildlife photographers. Unlike regular tourist trips, the schedule is planned around light conditions, animal activity and the best photographic opportunities. Experienced photo guides help you maximise your image opportunities.
How much does a photo tour cost?
Prices vary depending on destination and trip length. Our tours range from approximately SEK 15,000 (Europe) to SEK 70,000 (Africa). The price usually includes accommodation, meals, local transport and professional guidance. International flights are normally not included.
Do I need to be an experienced photographer?
No, our tours suit all levels. Our guides adapt their coaching to your experience. Beginners receive help with basic camera settings while experienced photographers get advanced composition and lighting tips.
How large are the groups?
We keep groups small to provide personal attention. Typically 6–12 participants, never more than 18. Smaller groups offer better opportunities at photo hides and in vehicles.
What is included in the price?
Accommodation, meals, local transport, professional photo guiding and all activities according to the programme. International flights, personal expenses, gratuities and travel insurance are normally not included.
Practical information
What camera equipment do I need?
A digital system camera (DSLR or mirrorless) with at least one telephoto lens (200–400 mm). We also recommend a 70–200 mm and a wide-angle lens. A tripod or beanbag is useful for many trips.
Are the tours physically demanding?
Most tours are easy to moderately demanding. Photography often takes place from vehicles, hides or short walks. Specific requirements are stated for each trip. Walking safaris in Africa require normal fitness.
Do I need a visa or vaccinations?
This varies by destination. We provide information about requirements for each trip. EU citizens rarely need a visa for our European destinations. African tours may require specific vaccinations.
How do I book a tour?
Send a booking enquiry via our website. We confirm availability and send a booking confirmation with payment details. A deposit secures your place.
What happens if I need to cancel?
We have flexible cancellation terms. Full refund for cancellations more than 90 days before departure. See our full travel terms for details. We always recommend travel insurance.
Photo hides
What is a photo hide?
A photo hide is a camouflaged structure placed near waterholes, bird nests or other places where animals gather. You photograph through specially designed openings at close range without disturbing the animals.
How do night hides work?
Night hides have strategically placed lighting that simulates natural light. You photograph through glass at eye level with the water surface. Seating, beds and bathrooms are available for comfort during long sessions.
