About Michael
Michael Ahlén is a wildlife photographer, filmmaker, and guide whose visual style often leans toward the monochrome and black-and-white. His imagery is built on atmosphere, patience, and a strong sensitivity to nature’s most intense and genuine moments. In his work, he often seeks the timeless and stripped-back, where light, contrast, and form carry the story, but he also works in color when the subject and mood call for it. In addition to photography, he also works with video and drones, with a focus on creating a more complete and immersive visual narrative from the field.
Michael shoots with both Canon and Sony, and has a deep interest in the technical side of image-making. As a dedicated gear enthusiast, he appreciates everything from camera bodies and super-telephoto lenses to video rigs, drones, and smart field solutions. At FocusRAW he is also responsible for web development and the technical environment behind the website.
